Summary: To the Doctor falls the task of repairing the tapestry of time.
Disclaimer: I don’t own Doctor Who, or the characters.
 


 
Time spreads out around the Doctor in every direction, like a vast, multicoloured tapestry, threads of different lengths and textures woven intricately together to form the universe as it was, as it is at this particular moment, and as it will be in the future.

 
Some of the threads can be altered, cut shorter or stretched longer, even taken in a different direction altogether, without affecting the overall pattern, while others are the warp which forms the basis of the whole design.
 

Those are the ones the Doctor must fix when they’re interfered with. Otherwise, the whole universe might collapse.
