Returning to the TARDIS, the Doctor stares in consternation at the cardboard box outside the door. The box itself doesn’t bother him, except for the fact that it constitutes littering, but the contents…
“They’re adorable!” Amy gushes, leaning over to stroke each of the five puppies in turn.
“Not bad, I suppose. For dogs. Well, come along, Pond. We should get going!”
“We can’t just leave them here!” When Amy stands up, she’s holding one of the puppies.
“Why not? Someone else did.”
“Exactly, they’ve been abandoned!”
“I’m not an animal rescue charity!”
“We can drop them off at Battersea.”
