A/N: Double drabble.
Days like this, Detective Inspector Kathy Swanson had to wonder why she’d accepted the post in Cardiff. She’d been working in Bristol when it had been offered, and at the time she’d been excited, both by her promotion and the chance to work in a new city. She’d accepted the job, found an apartment in Cardiff to avoid having to commute over the Severn Bridge every day, and…
Well, it turned out that Cardiff really wasn’t like other cities. It was a lovely place, and the people, those who weren’t criminals, were warm and friendly, but there were always weird things happening, much weirder than university students pulling elaborate pranks and hoaxes, no matter that was how many of the weird incidents were described in reports.
Like this, because not even the most enterprising students could pull off making the wheels of every car on an entire street in Splott turn square overnight. If that wasn’t weird, she didn’t know what was.
Unfortunately, it also wasn’t a job for the Cardiff police, regardless of what the car owners might think. The police couldn’t make square wheels round again, it wasn’t their responsibility, so… Who you gonna call? Torchwood, that’s who.
The End
