Everywhere they looked as they walked along the street, screens were flickering, playing commercials for food and drink, touting the best hotels, advertising bargains at nearby stores, extolling the virtues of anti-aging treatments, and the excitements of pleasure palaces.

 
Amy wanted to cover her ears, shut out all the noise, while Rory was observing everything with a bemused expression on his face. The Doctor didn’t appear to notice any of it.
 

“Is the whole planet like this?” Amy almost had to shout in the Doctor’s ear just to be heard over the cacophony.
 

“’Course no. This is the commercial district.”
