Rose looked around the small hut with some distaste. “Not exactly five-star accommodation, is it?”

The Doctor shrugged, moving to sit on one of the thin pallets, raised a few inches off the floor on a crude wooden frame.

“This is a poor village. Most of the people have to make do with a scrap of blanket spread over some old straw on the floor. Some don’t even have that much, just the cold, hard ground. Compared to that, what they’re offering us is luxury.”

“Isn’t there anything we can do for them?”

“That’s what we’re here to find out.”

I'm so glad she asked “Isn’t there anything we can do for them?” That's the right question and so many people wouldn't think to ask it.
