Exiting the TARDIS, Mel stared in disbelief. She’d seen a few alien planets by now, and had thought she knew what to expect, but this…

 
The people around her were alien alright, basically humanoid, but with blue skin and four arms. Oddly, that part wasn’t a shock at all. What was disconcerting Mel was that everyone was gliding past on wheels.
 

“Roller-skates?” she asked when she could find her voice.
 

“A very practical and clean mode of transport,” the Doctor assured her. “The Kallosians got hold of a pair in a trade deal a century ago. They’ve really caught on.”

Very environmentally responsible. I wish humans would ride bicycles or self-power rollerblades and rollerskates to get around.

I cycle when the weather is suitable, but there are times I have to get the car out. Can't carry much on my bike, and at my age, hills are fine going down, but not going back up.
