Summary: The Doctor pays his respects.

Naturally, the Doctor knew in advance. Being a Time Lord, he saw timelines, past and future, the beginnings and endings of all things, even individual people.
 

It was why he was here, on this particular day, in this particular year. Ninety-six was no age at all to a Time Lord, but it was old for a human, and this particular human was one the Doctor respected.
 

“Your Majesty,” he greeted, bowing slightly.
 

“Why so formal, Doctor?”
 

“It seemed fitting. This is the last time we’ll meet.”
 

Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II smiled. “We suspected as much. Tea?”
 

“Thank you, Ma’am.”

Not sure if it helps or not, but Jordan and I both cried when she passed. And we've never been lucky enough yet to set foot in England. He did "meet" her once as part of a class thing online, and other than his great-grandmother, she's probably the woman for whom he upholds in the most respect. <3

It is good to know that others valued our Queen, She was a great lady. Not perfect of course, but she worked hard and did her best. She was Queen before I was born. The day she passed was a shock, it had seemed to me that she would live forever.

I was rather hoping she would (live forever). I had a great deal of respect for her. I love that she supported England during WWII with actual service (can you imagine Trump doing that? I sure can't). And I love that she liked the Obamas and seems to have disliked Trump a great deal. (Sorry, American here.) She oversaw so many decades of history, so many more than any other ruler or politician. And she was open to new things, like the hologram thing she did.

So was I. She was already queen when I was born, it still seems impossible that she's gone, and disconcerting that more and more banknotes are appearing with Charles' face on them, which just seems wrong. She was a gracious lady, and many of us miss her.

Cannot imagine Trump ever doing any kind of service for anyone. He's all about himself, what HE wants. Despicable.
