Summary: Dick is always happy when his temporary owners arrive home from work.
Written Using: The tw100 prompt ‘Tail / Tale’.

A/N: Double drabble and a half, 250 words.
The moment Dick the dachshund heard the sound of a key in the lock, he was out of his basket, tail wagging enthusiastically as he trotted to the door to greet Dee and Ryo, home from work.
Ryo smiled as he stepped inside, bending over to pet the little dog before taking his shoes off. “One thing about dogs,” he said to his partner as Dee stooped to pat the dog and be thoroughly licked. “You can always tell when they’re happy to see you.”
“Yeah,” Dee agreed. “If this mutt was any happier, he’d wag his butt right off, and then where would he be?” Reaching for the dog’s leash, he clipped it to Dick’s collar. “Better take him for a walk, we’ve been gone a long time. Should probably arrange for someone to take him out a time of two when we’re both workin’ the same shift.”
“Maybe one of the neighbours would be willing. I’ll ask around.”
“You do that. C’mon, dog. A quick turn around the block for your bathroom break, then I’ll take ya for a longer walk after we eat. I’m starvin’.”
“I’ll get dinner started,” Ryo said.
“Thanks, babe. And for the record, my tail wags whenever I’m around you.” He winked and was out the door, closing it behind him, before Ryo fully understood what he was alluding to.
“DEE!”
Laughing, Dee led the dog into the elevator, picturing Ryo blushing furiously. “Hey, I was only bein’ honest,” he told the dog.
