MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!!

Wishing a Very Merry Christmas to all of you who celebrate it, and Happy Holidays to everybody else!

May the peace and joy of the season be with you all, not just now but throughout the year ahead *hugs you all in a giant group hug*

And to keep my own Christmas tradition, here are all my boys, including a new Jack (right hand side at the far end) enjoying their Christmas dinner. Hope all of you are enjoying (or have enjoyed) a feast of your own, whether with friends, family, loved ones, pets, or all of the above!

Dinner 2016 (1)

We've had a really good one, but Blaze isn't feeling too well. We're worried that he might have eaten some tinsel (again; he refuses to keep away from the stuff), so we've decided not to do tinsel anymore while we have him. It isn't worth his health. He actually turned down treats, and he never does that. He's resting right now, so we're hoping that helps.

I don't think I'm gonna get to see the episode; it's airing at all the wrong times. :-/ According to our programming guide, it's only on at six and 9:15, and I'm not gonna put Mom through a show she doesn't much care for (particularly because she doesn't like what little she's seen of Capaldi; she's more into Tennant).

He meowed at Mom when she spoke to him, and we consider that some real progress. The most noise he's made since last night was little chirruping noises.

Was this Pearl Mackie's first episode? I'm so curious about Bill.

He's doing a lot better now. He's eaten most of his kibble, and he's acting like his old self. I was worried sick that I might lose the poor baby.

He's back to his old self again...even getting into the occasional bit of trouble. Boys...

I'd been wondering what was up with that title. I'd seen absolutely nothing pertaining to it, except for one .gif image on Tumblr.

I hope I like it. I haven't seen a truly great Christmas episode since 'The Snowmen'. I liked 'Last Christmas' well enough, and 'Husbands' had some high points, though I think they relied way too much on that cyborg. I think I'm just picky. *shrugs*

He's stretched out next to me on the couch arm, napping. :) Sweet boy. He had us so scared.

I think I may be an idiot. I just signed up for getyourwords out. The 500,000 pledge. O.o

I keep going back and forth between thinking that I must be nuts, and thinking that this might be what I need to seriously kick me back into gear so that I stop just procrastinating. I have two novella sequels to write, and have almost decided to write a sequel to my DW/Labyrinth crossover, on top of all the projects I've been sitting on for ages. Maybe doing something this insane can get me moving.

It's been so weird, not having a season to look forward to now that we have TV again. This Christmas turned into a real fandom one, lol! Mom just kept finding amazing DW stuff for me, so that nearly half my gifts were fandom related.

This little boy and I have been through so much together. I can't imagine the past twelve years without him.

It's really cool; she even found a necklace that I've been wanting for ages, and she had no idea that I'd been wanting it. :D And a shirt that she insists I wear tomorrow, despite it being short-sleeved, lol!

Just found out about Carrie Fisher, though, so I've gone from happy DW fangirl to devastated Star Wars fangirl.

He'll be thirteen in April. :) The cat I grew up with lived to be fifteen, and she was semi-feral, and spent a lot of her time outside, winning every cat fight on the block. Blaze has never been outside, and we think he might live even longer than she did. He certainly isn't slowing down at all.

I sure hope so. This year's been so unproductive for me that it might give me the adrenaline rush I need.

That really came as a shock. I was upset by Bowie, Glenn Frey, George Martin...but I honestly think this is the death I'm the most upset by. I got heavy into Star Wars in high school; I had all the Extended Universe novels (I kept my favorite one, and I'm disappointed that they're no longer canon), and I every so often wonder why the hell I don't have the trilogy yet on DVD. Every time I saw a mention of her hospitalization, I would vaguely hope she wouldn't be next, but it sounded like she was improving, so I genuinely didn't think it would happen. It just about knocked the wind out of me when I found out she was gone.

Rainbow was a tough old girl. Super-petite, but feisty as all get-out. She was a barn kitten when we got her, and she never was fully domesticated. She didn't need us for anything, but she always came home. We think she's haunting the house we grew up in.

There were times after my dog, Sparkles died (and, prior to that, when her puppy, Princess--Princess Leia, to use her full name [Mom's idea, lol]--died), when I would sometimes hear claws clacking on the kitchen floor. And, living over here, Mom swears up and down that she sometimes sees a cat crossing the kitchen.

This has just been a crap year, all around. Mom has had a great year, and she feels guilty for it, considering everyone else she talks to has had such a sucky one.
