A/N: This one’s a triple drabble.
Bikky knew he was an average student at best, at least when it came to academic subjects. He didn’t seem to have the brain for them, which made him sometimes wish that brains were like computers and if yours didn’t have enough memory you could upgrade to one that did. Maybe there’d be aps for math, or English, or geography, add-ons so even the worst student would be able to get a passing grade. Or maybe you’d be ale to download whole subjects straight into your head and do something more interesting with the time you would’ve spent learning them the old-fashioned way.
Unfortunately, that kind of technology didn’t exist yet, and it was doubtful it would be invented before he graduated, so he still had to go to school five days a week and sit through boring lessons trying to force his brain to absorb knowledge he was probably never going to need anyway.
He couldn’t even skip classes these days because Ryo was really strict about that; it was like his Rule Number One. Then again, skipping classes would be a dumb thing to do anyway, because Bikky knew if he didn’t keep his grades up he wouldn’t get to stay on the basketball team.
While his brain might not be well suited to academic study, when it came to sports, and especially basketball, it was a different matter entirely. Then, his brain and body worked together almost effortlessly, proving to him if proof were still needed that this was what he was designed to do. He couldn’t give it up, no matter what he had to do, and if that meant he had to knuckle down in class and learn pointless stuff then he’d do it. Whatever would give him the chance of fulfilling his lifelong dream.
