Summary: A young woman has fallen foul of a piece of alien tech.
Disclaimer: I don’t own Torchwood, or the characters.
A/N: Double drabble.
“But I look ridiculous!” the girl wailed despairingly. At least it would have been a distressed wail under normal circumstances. These were far from normal circumstances however, so the words came out as more of a mournful honk.
Ianto sympathised because she was right, she did look ridiculous; anyone would with a lurid purple trunk similar to that of an elephant sprouting from the middle of their face. Well, anyone for whom that wasn’t their normal appearance.
She would have been quite attractive if not for her trunk, with her pale skin, hazel eyes, and red hair, but the purple trunk clashed atrociously and the little bobbing antennae didn’t help matters.
“Don’t worry, Miss,” he assured her. “The hallucinations are an unfortunate side effect of the drugs that were slipped into your drink, but we’ll give you the antidote and you’ll soon feel more like yourself.” He patted her hand.
She wasn’t hallucinating of course; the trunk was real, but she didn’t need to know that. Tosh was working on reversing the effects of the alien device, a pendant the girl had found lying in the street.
Between Tosh and the Retcon, it would be as if this never happened.
