There was a definite sense of wonder involved in working for Torchwood. Every day there was something new, be it the latest mysterious item dropped off by the Rift, a new species of alien to deal with, or a new disaster to avert.
 

Suzie had become jaded, convinced the Rift only brought them junk, that Cardiff was fast becoming the universe’s rubbish heap, but she’d been wrong. Tosh couldn’t imagine ever growing bored or dissatisfied with her lot in life. The Hub was like Wonderland, full of mysteries to unravel, technology to explore, and discoveries to be made.
 

Although she’d joined Torchwood in the first place simply because it was the only option available to her other than life in prison, locked in a tiny, bare cell, after almost five years she knew that it was where she truly belonged. Nowhere else on earth could offer her more exciting opportunities than were available to her in this grey and grungy underground bunker. 

 
Ianto set a box of items on the conference table in front of her. 
 

“Right, let’s see if we can figure out some of these, shall we?”
 

“Mystery tech day!” Tosh grinned. “My favourite day of the week!”
