Summary: Dee and Ryo are both feeling a little awkward around each other.

A/N: Double drabble.
Dee was practically walking on eggshells around his partner; he couldn’t get the events of the previous night out of his head. For the first time in living memory, he wished Bikky was still there to provide a buffer between himself and Ryo, but the brat had eaten the last of Dee’s breakfast cereal and left for home, needing to fetch his schoolbag. Now Dee was alone with his partner, he didn’t know what to say.
While he was still fumbling for the right words, Ryo spoke, sounding as tentative and unsure as Dee felt.
“I’m sorry about last night. I don’t know what I was thinking, I just…” He trailed off, shaking his head. “I didn’t mean to make you mad.”
A heavy sigh escaped Dee. Why did Ryo always blame himself for everything? Upset and confused, he hadn’t been in his right mind.
“Wasn’t your fault, bud. And for the record, I’m sorry too. Shouldn’t have hit you like that.” Dee glanced at his partner’s face, relieved to see the blow hadn’t left a mark.
“It’s alright, I think I needed it.” Ryo smiled weakly.
“So, are we okay?”
“We’ll always be okay.”
“I’ll hold ya to that.”
