Poor Buffy! I don't often or easily say that, but this definitely gives readers an in depth insight into all the extra fears that had to be going through her mind when they were nearing their graduation. I never considered it before, but I can see her making the mistake of believing that everyone who wasn't tied down to having to be a Slayer would move on with their lives and leave her behind. Of course, we know the gang couldn't just abandon Buffy, but she didn't at that time. It had to feel very lonely for her even with their friendships, thinking, no doubt, that whereas they meant good and didn't mean to leave her behind, they ultimately would and probably even should as she was the one cursed/called to be the Slayer. Again, it isn't easy to rend my heart for Buffy (she's actually one of my least favorites of all the characters in the Whedonverse), but you certainly succeeded here! Very well done!
