A/N: Triple drabble.
“Got a surprise for ya,” Dee said when Ryo arrived at his apartment.
“A surprise? That’s why you invited me over?”
“Yep! Been workin’ on it for months, every chance I got when the light was right.” Taking Ryo’s hand, Dee steered his lover towards the bedroom. “Close your eyes.”
“Dee…”
“Humor me, okay? I want ya to see the full effect all at once.”
“Fine.” Ryo did as he was asked. “Now what?”
Reaching past Ryo, Dee pushed the door open. “There’s nothin’ in the way for ya to trip over. Just walk straight ahead, I’m right beside ya.”
After five steps, Dee stopped him. “Okay, open your eyes.”
“What am I supposed to… OH!”
It was impossible for Ryo to miss what Dee wanted to show him; the painting hanging on the wall had to be at least twenty-four inches by thirty, and there was no mistaking who it depicted. It was a side view of Ryo, naked, sitting on a rock, one forearm resting on a knee artfully raised to preserve his dignity, a bottle of water dangling from his hand. He was staring out across the sea, smiling slightly, obviously enjoying the warmth and the solitude.
“That’s…”
“Yeah, I admit it.” Dee’s grin was unrepentant. “I snuck a picture of ya on my phone last year on vacation, when we were dryin’ off after our… swim.”
Ryo blushed furiously. “If I’d known…”
“You would’a stopped me, I know, but I couldn’t resist. You looked so perfect, and it’s not like anyone else is ever gonna see it, although… For an amateur, I think it’s a pretty good paintin’. Maybe I should see about gettin’ it displayed in a gallery.”
“You wouldn’t!”
“No, you’re right, I wouldn’t do that to ya. This is for our eyes only.”
