Ryo looked up at the sky, smiling slightly, as he strolled along the street beside Dee, heading for their parked car. “It’s a beautiful night.”

 
“I hadn’t noticed,” Dee admitted.
 

“That’s not very observant of you,” Ryo teased his lover. “So much for you being a trained detective.”
 

“No fair,” Dee protested. “I notice stuff, I just happen to prefer lookin’ at you when we’re out on a date.”
 

“Maybe you should watch where you’re going before you walk into something.”

 
“Says the guy starin’ at the sky.”
 

“I’m not staring, just looking up occasionally. Clear sky, halfmoon, stars… It makes a pleasant change after all the rain and snow we’ve suffered through the last few months.”

 
“Winter’s not over yet,” Dee pointed out.
 

“All the more reason to enjoy the better weather while it lasts.” Ryo squeezed his lover’s hand. “Let’s not go home just yet.”
 

“What d’ya wanna do?”
 

“I don’t know, just walk for a bit, enjoy the fresh air and the fact that we can be outside without risking frostbite.”
 

That drew a chuckle from Dee. “Yeah, gotta admit it’s nice not havin’ to bundle up against the cold. Spring can’t come soon enough for me.”
