Summary: Jack is late to dinner, but he has a good excuse.
Disclaimer: I don’t own Torchwood, or the characters.
A/N: Double drabble.
Ianto knew he probably shouldn’t be so annoyed, Torchwood was Torchwood, and making plans was always a risk, since they might have to be changed or even abandoned altogether without notice. Nevertheless, Jack had promised he would be on time for Sunday dinner, since Ianto had invited Rhiannon and her family over, and he was already half an hour late. If he didn’t get there soon, the meal would be ruined.
At long last, just when he was about to give in and dish up anyway, since Jack wasn’t answering his phone, Ianto heard the front door open and hurried out into the hallway.
“You’re late!” he hissed, not wanting his guests to hear.
“I know, I’m sorry.”
“So what’s your excuse this time? I tried calling, but you didn’t pick up.”
“I was probably busy being dead.”
“Oh.”
“Also, I think my phone might have broken.”
“What happened?”
“Ran into a blowfish robbing the off-licence when I went to buy a bottle of wine on my way over. He shot me through the heart, left me dead, and when I revived, I was covered in blood, so I had to get changed. I’m really sorry.”
Ianto sighed. “You’re forgiven.”
