Dee hates this; their latest crime scene is right at the top of the tallest skyscraper under the authority of the 27th Precinct. It’s not that he’s bothered by heights, he never has been, and it’s not that he doesn’t like elevators either; they’re not only convenient for getting from ground level to the upper floors of a building with minimum effort, they’re also great for a bit of makin’ out, if you happen to be stuck in one with the right person.


He’s with the right person now, and facing a long ride up to the top floor, followed by a short climb to the roof, where the body is located, but this is work, not leisure. Anyway they’re sharing the elevator car with a bunch of crime scene guys, so there’ll be no chance of any smoochin’. Damn Ryo for holding the elevator for them!


Okay, so Ryo probably wouldn’t have agreed to spending the ride enjoying each other’s company in an intimate sense, but at the very least Dee could’ve entertained himself by trying. As it is, he’s got to just stand here beside his partner at the back of the elevator, keeping his hands to himself and watching the floor numbers light up one by one. It’s a kind of slow torture, especially since it’s so crowded in here Ryo’s pressed up against his side, shoulder-to-shoulder, hip-to-hip. Dee can feel the warmth and lean strength of his lover against him, and if he breathes deeply he can catch hints of Ryo’s aftershave, vanilla body wash, shampoo… He smells good enough to eat, and it’s making Dee horny. Nothing new there.


It’s a relief when the elevator finally stops and they head for the crime scene on the roof; at least the dead guy didn’t fall off.
