A/N: Double drabble.
Dee might not understand the great outdoors the way Ryo did thanks to frequent trips into the wilderness with his parents when he was a kid, but he knew his way around the urban jungle.
He’d probably always feel out of place amid the natural beauty of forests and moorland, but trudging through the streets, subways, and alleys of the city that never slept, he was completely at home. The dirty streets and rundown tenements had their own stories to tell, and he could read them like a book. He could never get lost among the concrete canyons.
New York was a living, breathing entity; the people were its lifeblood, flowing through its veins, and the criminals were a disease that had to be eliminated one cell at a time, which made him part of the city’s immune system.
Some people sought adventure in far flung places, going on safaris, or trekking through the lush rainforests he’d seen on nature documentaries, but that kind of thing had never appealed to him. Too many snakes. He had all the adventure he could handle right here in the Big Apple, and the creatures he hunted were the most dangerous on the planet.
