Jack stood watching Nosy zooming around the Hub at speed. It really was incredible how fast a creature with no legs could go.
 

“What’s going on?” Ianto asked, coming in from the garage and ambling over to Jack, carrying his lover’s freshly cleaned coat. He’d been out running a few errands. Then he caught sight of Nosy as the Fluff whizzed past again. “Oh no! Don’t tell me Owen knocked the coffee beans over. Or did someone leave an energy drink out again?”

 
“Nothing like that,” Jack reassured him. “Nosy’s been watching the Olympics track events and wanted to see if it could beat the winning times.”

 
“Ah.” Ianto smiled. “How is it doing?”
 

“Quite well. We measured out a track. I’m timing it for the mile now.”

 
“How many laps is that?”

 
“Just over four,” Jack replied. “It’s on the last lap now; where I’m standing is the finish line.”
 

Nosy came into view and zipped past Jack, who pressed the button on Ianto’s stopwatch. Ianto took it from him.

 
“Impressive! Just under three minutes.”

 
“Wait until we time Nosy for the marathon,” Jack said, grinning.
 

Ianto paled. “It’ll get so dizzy it won’t be able to slither straight!”
