Summary: Ianto is hit by an unexpected and mysterious pain.

Ianto was working down in the archives, sorting through a section that looked like no one had touched it in at least fifty years, when the pain hit. One moment he was humming happily to himself, and the next instant he felt as though someone had hit him in the face with a baseball bat.

 
Tears of agony filled his eyes, blinding him. Dropping his pen and the clipboard he’d been jotting his preliminary notes on, he slapped both hands over his face, convinced his nose had just been mashed flat as a pancake. Only, it hadn’t; it was still there, and perfectly fine, so where had the pain come from?

 
Realisation dawned and he bolted from the archives, racing upstairs and bursting out into the main Hub.

 
“JACK!” he bellowed. “Where’s Nosy?”
 

He found his lover and the unfortunate Fluff in Jack’s office, surrounded by the rest of the team. Owen was tending to the patient, with an injection that the whole team felt. Gwen stood nearby, wringing her hands.

 
“I didn’t know it was there!” she wailed.
 

Ianto dropped to his knees. “What happened?”
 

“Gwen threw the door open, and it hit Nosy on the snout,” Jack explained.
