“I could get used to this,” Jack murmured. He was stretched out on a blanket in the shade of the biggest oak tree in Bute Park, listening to the soft sound of a breeze rustling the leaves overhead, and the lazy drone of bees buzzing from daisy to daisy.
 

Lying beside him, drowsy and relaxed, Ianto snorted softly. “You’d be bored out of your head in less than a day, you’re too used to being a man of action.”
 

“Am not!” Jack protested. “I just don’t get the chance to relax like this very often, too busy running Torchwood and chasing aliens. I’d spend every day like this if I could.”

 
“If you say so.”
 

Silence fell, and Ianto drifted on the edge of sleep, enjoying the quiet. It was the middle of a school day so there were no kids running around shouting, no dogs barking, no annoyed parents… Even the sounds of traffic seemed distant and muffled. It was bliss.

 
Jack shifted on the blanket, rolling onto his side. “I’ve got an idea!”
 

Ianto cracked one eye open. “No.”

 
“You don’t even know what I was going to say!”
 

“I know you.”
 

“Spoilsport. Okay, how about ice-cream instead?”
