Summary: In the aftermath of the brutal attack on Ryo, Dee feels even worse than his partner looks.

A/N: Double drabble.
 


 
Racing back to the hotel on his ‘borrowed’ motorcycle, all Dee had been able to think was that he might be too late, that the psycho hotel manager might have already added Ryo to his victims. Scared didn’t even begin to describe how he was feeling.

 
When he got there to find Ryo beaten and bloody but still alive, rage had taken over, and yeah, maybe he’d gone a bit over the top. It was probably a good thing Ryo had stopped him from putting a bullet through the bastard’s head, and anyway, giving Renard the beating he deserved for what he’d done to Ryo had been quite cathartic, but afterwards...

 
Ryo was a mess, battered and bruised, his arm bleeding from where he’d been slashed with a kitchen knife; he’d never looked more vulnerable. Intellectually, Dee knew his partner had fought off two attackers, he was in no way helpless, but as Dee tended Ryo’s wounds it was all he could do not to wrap his arms around his friend and cling to him, shaking like a leaf.
 

Honestly, Ryo was taking everything that had happened a whole lot better than Dee was.
