Spoilers: The Sound of Drums / Last of the Time Lords.
Summary: Jack can no longer tell what’s real.
Disclaimer: I don’t own Doctor Who, or the characters.
Jack’s sense of passing time can no longer be relied on. He has no idea how long he’s been hanging here in chains, in the Valliant’s dirty, hot, stinking engine room, waiting for the Master to remember his Freak’s existence and come to torture him again.
Reality has fragmented. Is the Master really present or is Jack having flashbacks to an earlier time, an earlier death? Does it even matter? It’s beginning to seem that this is all he’s ever known.
Sometimes it’s not the Master he sees, but Alice and Emily, his long-ago tormentors. Perhaps he never left Torchwood…
