Summary: Ianto has visited alien planets before, but this one is different.
Disclaimer: I don’t own Torchwood, or the characters.
A/N: Double drabble.
Some alien planets were a lot more alien than others, Ianto realised, as he stood in the middle of a Plaza that was similar to Cardiff’s Roald Dahl Plas and stared up at a sky that couldn’t have been more different.
Back home, the sky would usually be various shades of grey and white thanks to the clouds, maybe purplish if a storm was rolling in, or clear blue on cloudless days. Dawn and sunset might bring pinks and golds, or even red and orange, in sometimes spectacular displays, but he’d never seen a sky like this one.
It was apple green with streaks of yellow clouds, which would have been strange enough, but what was really disconcerting was seeing another planet looming over the tops of the low buildings, so close he could make out oceans, rivers, mountain ranges, and vast forests.
“That’s a bit…” He trailed off, not knowing how to express what he was feeling. Sometimes there just weren’t any words.
Jack draped a comforting arm around him. “You’ll get used to it. Stay here long enough and you won’t even notice it.”
“How? I’m almost scared to move in case I bump my head on it.”
