Summary: Jack is glad his boyfriend understands him so well.

If he were in a relationship with anyone other than the inestimable Ianto Jones, Jack was reasonably sure his compulsive flirting would be a problem. It had been in the past, lovers becoming jealous of the attention he gave so freely to complete strangers, but Ianto was different. He seemed to understand that the flirting was a part of Jack’s nature, not something he could switch on and off at will.

 
One time, he overheard Ianto explaining it to Gwen, who’d asked him how he could stand seeing Jack fawn over other people.

 
“If Rhys ever did that, I’d be furious with him! He’d be sleeping on the sofa for months.”
 

“Jack isn’t Rhys, Gwen, he can’t be held to the same rules. I swear, charm must be encoded in him at a genetic level. He’s got so much of it that it oozes out of him.” Ianto had sounded amused.
 

“But when you’re out on a date with him and he’s hitting on everyone…”
 

Ianto held up a hand to stop Gwen. “He doesn’t hit on people; he flirts. You should see how happy he makes everyone feel about themselves. But I’m the one he always goes home with.”
