Summary: Drake notices a change in Dee and Ryo’s behaviour.

A/N: Double drabble.
Watching Ryo, perched on the edge of Dee’s desk, talking with his partner, Drake frowned. He knew the two had gotten along pretty well since the day they’d met, knew they sometimes hung out together after work, but he also knew Dee had always been handsy, grabbing at his fellow detective and getting glared at, only… He couldn’t recall seeing any grabbing lately, or any glaring for that matter.
“Is it just me, or do Dee and Ryo seem kinda, I dunno, cosy lately?”
Sitting at the desk across from Drake, JJ sighed. “It’s not just you. I saw them out together a few nights ago, they were holding hands. They didn’t see me. I already suspected, but…” JJ shook his head. “It still hurt. I guess I missed my chance.” He glanced across at where Dee was laughing at something Ryo had said, and he managed a sad smile. “No, that’s just wishful thinking. Truth is, I never really had a chance with Dee, did I?”
Drake’s heart went out to JJ; his partner had been carrying a torch for Dee longer than Drake had known him. “No, I don’t think you ever did. I’m sorry.”
“So am I.”
