Summary: Some events can’t be changed or prevented, no matter how much the Doctor might wish they could.
Disclaimer: I don’t own Doctor Who, or the characters.
Standing on a hillside, the Doctor gazed down at a wide expanse of water, still as a mirror, reflecting the blue of the sky. He’d been there before, but back then he’d been looking at a wide, lush, green valley, dotted with small farms, not the reservoir that had taken its place.
Time changed things, and not always for the better.
Families had lost their homes, farmers had lost land tended by generations of their ancestors, all in the name of progress, and he could neither prevent it, nor go back in time and change it. Some events were immutable.
The End
