drabble_zone.Setting: After Like Like Love.
Summary: Bikky knows how much Ryo has done for him.

A/N: Double drabble.
“You don’t owe me anything, Bikky!” Ryo insisted. “I took you in after your father died because I wanted to. I understood what you were going through, and I thought you’d be better off with me than stuck in some group home.”
“And you were right.” Bikky grinned. “You’ve been the best dad ever. But you’re wrong too, because whether you like it or not, I do owe you. Everything I have now is because of you. I wouldn’t have made it to college on a scholarship, never mind been drafted by the Clippers, if you hadn’t encouraged me to chase my dreams. You didn’t laugh when I told you I wanted to play pro basketball. Instead, you taught me that I needed to work towards what I wanted, keep my grades up, eat right, and practice hard, but have a backup plan, just in case I didn’t make the grade. You’ve been there for me every step of the way.”
“Because I love you and I wanted you to be happy.”
“I know, and I love you too. That’s why I want to do something special for you, to show how much I appreciate everything you’ve done for me.”
