“You’ll get square eyes,” Ianto warned, catching Nosy staring fixedly at the TV, its big green eyes unblinking.
“Hum?”
“Well, alright, not literally square, but still, watching too much TV isn’t good for you, especially when you’re sitting so close to the screen.” Not that Nosy was sitting, exactly, but Ianto supposed it was doing the Fluff equivalent, neatly coiled on the floor in front of the TV. “If you’re not careful, you’ll end up needing glasses, and I have no idea where we could get a pair to fit you.”
Uncoiling its long body, Nosy slithered back a few feet and coiled up again, all without taking its eyes off the television.
“Better, I suppose. What’re you watching anyway?” Ianto had never seen Nosy watching anything quite so intently. He moved to stand behind the Fluff, and after a few minutes, slowly sat down on the sofa.
When Jack arrived home a couple of hours later, he found Ianto and Nosy still glued to the television.
“I thought you were going to have dinner ready by the time I got home,” he grumbled when he realised there was no telltale aroma of cooking coming from the kitchen.
“Right, sorry.” Ianto didn’t move from the sofa. “Got a bit distracted. Why don’t we order takeout tonight?”
“Looks like we’ll have to. What’re you watching?”
“Nosy found a Sherlock Holmes movie marathon, all the old black and white movies. Takes me right back to Sunday afternoons when I was a kid, watching them with my dad.”
“I remember those! Haven’t seen them in…” Jack shook his head. “Probably longer than you’ve been alive.” Shrugging his coat off, he slumped down on the sofa beside Ianto.
“What about dinner?”
Jack pulled his phone out of his pocket. “You can order for everyone.”
