Summary: Nosy finds its first night in the Hub rather creepy.
Disclaimer: I don’t own Torchwood, or the characters.
A/N: Double drabble.
Nosy coiled up on the blanket its new friends had given it, tugging one edge up and over its body, not for warmth, because its fur was thick enough to insulate it against much lower temperatures, but for a sense of security. Not that a blanket, even one as pretty as this one, with its colourful checked pattern, could offer much in the way of security. Still, it was better than nothing.
Everywhere was dark, but not like the nights on its home planet had been, with a sky full of stars. It wasn’t even like the nights it had spent among the sheep after it found itself on earth. There’d been starlight then too, and one larger globe of light. Here it was simply dark with a few small pinpoints of light flicking on and off like blinking eyes. Then there were the noises, buzzes, whirrs, clicks and gurgles…
The Fluff tried tucking its head under the blanket, but that was worse. The noises were muffled, but it couldn’t see whatever might sneak up on it.
Eventually it uncoiled, took hold of its blanket, and slithered in the direction its friends had gone. It would feel safer with them.
The End
