A/N: Double drabble.
“I should be getting overtime pay,” Buffy said, pouting as she kicked her heels against the side of the tomb she was sitting on. “I’m stuck here waiting until lazybones there decides to rise from his grave when I could be having fun at the Bronze or, yikes, doing my homework. Aren’t there laws about how many hours a day a sixteen-year-old is allowed to work? We’ve been here…” she checked her wristwatch, “almost three hours already. What if the late, very late in this case, Mr Henry doesn’t surface until after midnight? That’ll be five hours of my life I’ll never get back!”
“Do you get paid?” Willow asked. “For being the Slayer, I mean.”
“Nope, I’m just expected to risk my life every night for a pat on the back from my Watcher, and the non-existent gratitude of a townful of people who have no clue I’m even out here saving them from a fate worse than death. It sucks.”
“So if you’re already not being paid, how can you get overtime?” Xander looked up at Buffy from where he was sitting with his back against an ancient gravestone.
“Giles could at least give me a clothing allowance.”
