A/N: Triple drabble.
Dee was smart enough to recognise a certain obsessiveness in his behaviour, even if only because he’d been the unwilling target of a similar obsession for so long. JJ had fixated on him from the day they’d met, all but stalking him, taking every opportunity to spend time with him, even manufacturing such opportunities if they didn’t present themselves naturally.
Dee didn’t have to go to quite those lengths with his own obsession, since the Chief had assigned Ryo to work with him, so they were both simply following orders, but still, he never turned down the chance to spend time with Ryo outside of work.
Obsession it might be, at least on his part, since he was so irresistibly drawn to his work partner, but nevertheless, they’d become friends, and Ryo seemed equally happy to spend time with Dee, at work or at home. So maybe their situation wasn’t exactly the same as the one between Dee and JJ, which was totally one-sided. At least Ryo seemed to enjoy Dee’s company, while Dee barely tolerated JJ’s presence in his life.
Still, Dee was aware of the similarities. He pounced on Ryo, kissing him, and groping him, while Ryo pushed him away and told him he wasn’t interested, and just like JJ in his pursuit of Dee, he refused to accept ‘No’ for an answer.
There were differences too, however. Where Dee rebuffed JJ’s advances with increasing annoyance, and absolutely never returned the unwelcome kisses, Ryo would respond favourably to Dee’s attentions before pushing him away with a slightly confused expression on his face, as if he couldn’t understand his own behaviour. Whether what he couldn’t understand was that he kept returning Dee’s kisses or that he kept pushing his partner away, Dee wasn’t sure, but it kept him hoping.
