A/N: Double drabble.
Jack had lived through parts of history Ianto had only read about, or seen fictionalised on TV and in movies. He’d served in both world wars, and other conflicts, he’d even visited other time periods in his job as a Time Agent. He’d been on earth, living in Cardiff, as the horse and cart had been replaced by the automobile, had seen electric lighting become common in all households, the rise of the telephone, the advent of the computer age, the moon landings, and so much more.
Sometimes, it made Ianto feel small and insignificant. Jack knew so much, had done so much, and here Ianto was, still barely in his mid-twenties, with precious little experience of the world and everything in it. Oh, he read a lot, and he’d certainly not had an easy life, he’d suffered loss, and trauma, but Jack had been through so much more. He’d seen things Ianto didn’t even WANT to imagine, he had more than enough nightmare fodder already, but…
What could he offer a man who’d seen and done just about everything, including travelling the stars, and visiting the future? How could he ever hold Jack’s interest for more than a moment?
The End
