Summary: Some murder scenes are harder to deal with than others.

A/N: Double drabble.
Dee leaned against a wall across the street from the crime scene and sighed. “Most days I’m glad I quit smokin’, but some days…” He trailed off, shaking his head. “What I wouldn’t give for a smoke.”
“I’ve never smoked,” Ryo mused, frowning. “But that…” He gestured back over his shoulder. “That’s the kind of thing that almost makes me wish I did.”
The place was a bloodbath, more like an abattoir than someone’s home. It hadn’t been a simple murder, more of a slaughter.
“Whoever did that has serious anger issues.”
“Either that or they were on drugs. Or both.”
“Yeah, drugs and a temper, bad combination.” Dee shoved one hand through his hair. “Nothin’ we can really do here now. The vic’s beyond anyone’s help. Just gotta wait, see what the coroner and the crime scene team turn up. Don’t even have a murder weapon.”
“I don’t even want to guess what could’ve done that.” Ryo glanced back across the street. “We should start canvassing the neighbours. See if anyone might’ve seen anything useful.”
“Yeah, I guess. At the very least, you’d think someone might’a heard him scream. Gonna need a stiff drink when we get off work.”
