A/N: Double drabble.




Everything in this place was so strange. She didn’t know how she came to be here, she’d been flying back to her aerie, relishing the way the warm winds buoyed her up, allowing her to glide effortlessly for long distances when there’d been a flash of brightness directly ahead that dazzled her eyes and when she could see again the familiar vast plains, cliffs, and lake were gone, replaced by a cold, dark, wet place that smelled acrid and unpleasant.


She’d been confused, lost, afraid, with no idea which direction she should fly in order to get home again, but then it had found her, a peculiar creature that went around on its hind legs and made odd noises with its mouth. It was like nothing she’d ever encountered before, and she’d wondered at first if it meant her harm.


It had offered her something, a lump of hard, brown stuff, and being hungry she’d taken it, gulping it down. It had tasted surprisingly good. Perhaps, she thought, this was where one went when life ceased, a place of good things and tasty rewards. It was a scary place, but perhaps in the two-legged one she had found a friend.
