Summary: Dee is Ryo’s friend, that’s all. Right?
Written Using: The tw100 prompt ‘Friend’.

A/N: Double drabble.




“Why’s he here again?” Bikky grumbled, giving Dee a dirty look.


“We work together,” Ryo explained patiently, “and Dee’s also my friend.”


“You know he only wants to get in your pants!”


“Bikky!” Ryo flushed, embarrassed. Surely a ten-year-old shouldn’t be so… worldly. What had his father taught him?


“Yeah, butt out, twerp!” Dee glared at the boy.


“Someone’s gotta protect Ryo from you.”


“Ryo doesn’t need proctectin’; he can protect himself.”


Personally, Ryo wasn’t too sure about that. Granted, he should be able to, but Dee had a way of cutting right through his defences so that even when he knew he should say no and push his partner away, most of the time he felt too overwhelmed to even try.


It had nothing to do with Dee being taller and stronger, Ryo was sure of that. His karate training meant he knew several ways of taking down opponents larger and heavier than his partner, and yet he’d never used any of those methods against Dee.


‘Because he’s my friend and I don’t want to hurt him.’


It wasn’t the only reason but it was the only one he’d admit to. Why’d his life have to be so complicated?
