Summary: With Dee’s life in danger Ryo has to react fast.

A/N: Double drabble.




Ryo’s legs were the consistency of jello. He was a cop, a sharpshooter, skilled in karate as well as the regular police hand-to-hand combat and self defence training; he didn’t scare easily. He could take down armed attackers, face life or death situations without flinching, deal with all the horrors of his job calmly and professionally, but when his partner was the one in danger it was a whole other situation.


Dee was his life, keeper of his heart, so much more than partner, friend, or even lover. Without him, Ryo wasn’t sure he could survive so seeing the gun pointed at Dee, seeing the man he loved with every fibre of his being unarmed and unable to defend himself, his blood had run cold and he’d reacted without hesitation, levelling his own gun and firing a split second before the armed thug could. Thank God for fast reflexes.


The thug’s shot had gone way wide of the mark because as his finger had tightened on the trigger he’d already been going down, dead before he hit the ground, shot through the heart.


Ryo would’ve liked to sit down but he had work to do. He could fall apart later.
