“You can’t park here; you’ll have to move. These spaces are for residents only.”
Ianto rolled his eyes; there was going to be trouble, more than there already was. People inside the building were screaming, while out here some officious busybody thought he had the right to say where the people racing to the rescue could park.
“There’s a public car park…” That was as far as the busybody got before Jack was out of the passenger seat and in his face.
“This is an official emergency response vehicle, which means we get to park wherever we need to. We’re responding to a call for assistance from the police so if you’ve got a problem with where we’re parking take it up with them. If anyone dies because of this delay it’ll be on your head, got it?”
Going white as a sheet, the man froze, possibly due to the barrel of Jack’s Webley poking him in the chest.
“Right, now that’s settled,” Ianto said brightly as the team headed inside, weapons drawn.
With a final snarl, Jack spun on his heel and strode away, Ianto beside him.
“When are people going to start appreciating us?”
Ianto shrugged. “Probably never.”
