Summary: Just when Martha and the Doctor thought they were safe…

The Doctor slows down and Martha skids to a halt behind him, breathing hard. Why is it everywhere they go they end up getting chased by someone of something? Travelling through space and time is exhilarating, but exhausting.

 
“Looks like we’ve lost them.” The Doctor beams, smug and self-congratulatory. “I told you there was nothing to worry about.”
 

Martha’s relief turns out to be premature.  At the very next intersection their pursuers are suddenly right there ahead of them. They must have taken a shortcut.
 

“What was that you said about losing them?”

 
“Oh, they’re clever!” The Doctor grins. “Run!”
