It’s always a pleasure to chat with interesting people, you can learn so much about where you are from a simple conversation, which is incredibly useful if you happen to find yourself some place you never intended to go. The TARDIS sometimes seems to have her own agenda, one she seldom bothers sharing with the Doctor.
 

Some races, unfortunately, aren’t terribly good conversationalists.
 

“YOU WILL BE EXTERMINATED!”
 

“Oh, come on, don’t you think you’re being a bit hasty? I only just got here; you didn’t even offer me refreshments.”

 
“DALEKS DO NOT REQUIRE REFRESHMENTS.”
