Summary: There’s a vicious animal on the loose in Cardiff.

A/N: Double drabble.
 


 
On the surface, Cardiff looked like any other major British city, with its shops, office blocks, business parks, suburbs, and green spaces. It had one major difference to other cities though; it had been built on a Rift through space and time.

 
As a result, the city was rife with weird occurrences and mysterious deaths. There were more ‘animal attacks’ per year than in any other city of comparable size, not just in the country but quite probably in the entire world.

 
“Kathy just called,” Ianto said, leaning into Jack’s office. “Reports are coming in of a vicious animal on the loose.”

 
“Weevil?” Jack asked, taking his Webley from his desk drawer, and fastening the holster to his belt.
 

“Not this time. People are saying it’s a big cat.”
 

“Not a Bozog either then.” There was no way one of the huge, shaggy beasts could be described as catlike.

 
“Thankfully not. Owen’s getting the tranquilliser gun.”
 

Jack nodded. “Good. Whatever it is, maybe we can take it alive.”
 

That plan lasted until the team arrived at the coordinates of the last sighting. Then it suddenly didn’t seem such a good idea.

 
Ianto frowned. “How do we catch a sabretooth tiger?”
