At fifteen, Bikky had thought that nothing could really surprise him anymore, especially when it came to Ryo and Dee. He’d gotten used to their arguments, Dee’s dumb jokes, Ryo’s obsession with keeping everywhere tidy… he’d even mostly gotten used to catching his dad and his eternal nemesis snogging in the kitchen, or the living room. He’d long since come to the conclusion that even for adults, the pair of them were weird. This, however, was new.

 
Arriving home from school, dreading the pile of homework he had to do, Bikky let himself into the apartment and stopped dead, staring in disbelief.

 
Oblivious to anything but each other, Dee and Ryo were engaged in a fierce battle, wielding a couple of long, cardboard tubes as if they were swords. The tubes clashed again and again as the two men parried each other’s blows, twisting aside to avoid being ‘stabbed’, ducking under a wild swing, each trying to drive the other back.
 

After watching for a few minutes, Bikky, still unnoticed, left the apartment and went next door to Melinda’s.

 
“There’s a swordfight going on at home; can I do my homework here? It’s the only place I’ll get any peace.”

LOL I would say poor Bikky, but hey, he should've grabbed another tube and joined in! I remember when the wrapping paper tubes were strong enough to actually do this with! This is the first year we've had cats and had none interested in the paper! And the tubes were definitely not worthy of becoming swords! :(

But LOL again! Great fic! I'm glad someone else thought of using the tubes!!

Yeah, I remember the old tubes, that's what inspired this, but these days they're just stiff paper, unless you buy really expensive rolls of gift wrap. Still, Dee and Ryo had fun ;)
