Summary: Tosh is too clever for her teammates to keep up with.
Disclaimer: I don’t own Torchwood, or the characters.
A/N: Double drabble.
Tosh had been so excited as she’d launched into a detailed explanation of the piece of alien technology she’d been working on: What it was, how it worked, and the potential benefits to the team if she was able to incorporate some of its functions into the Hub’s systems.
Now, looking around at the blank expressions of her teammates, she felt herself wilt. Owen was slumped across the boardroom table with his eyes closed. Gwen had a fixed smile on her face although it was obvious that she’d stopped listening. Even Ianto was frowning as he made notes, and he could usually keep up with most of her technobabble.
Jack smiled encouragingly. “Don’t worry about it, Tosh. The curse of a superior intellect is that lesser mortals will never understand most of what you try to explain to them. Good thing I’ve encountered similar technology before; I have a reasonable grasp of the science behind it.”
“You lost me at the point where you said it could reduce our power consumption even though you’d have to adapt it to run off mains electricity,” Ianto admitted sheepishly.
“I didn’t understand a bloody word,” Owen mumbled. “But I think you broke Gwen.”
