Summary: Jack just wants this pregnancy to be over, but the twins aren’t cooperating.

Jack felt huge. Not just elephant huge, but Space Whale huge. He was way bigger than he’d been with Meriel, and that had been bad enough.

 
Of course, twins were bound to need more room to grow; he should have expected this, and deep down he had. He’d just avoided thinking about it until he’d got too big even for the extra-large sweatpants Ianto had bought him during his first pregnancy. He didn’t even want to consider what size he was wearing now.
 

He was just over eight months along, which was a bit of a miracle in itself. Owen had said that since he was having twins they’d probably arrive early. He’d bought incubators and other equipment for premature babies, just so everything would be ready when it was needed. Martha had been here a month, ready to assist with neonatal care.

 
So much for that. Jack was beginning to think the demon spawn inside him had decided to wait the full nine months.
 

Another week passed before the pains started, and Jack breathed a sigh of relief between contractions.
 

“Told you they’d be early,” Owen said as he prepared for the caesarean.
 

“Just not early enough!” Jack complained.
