It was a drab place, everything in shades of beige and grey. Even the people blended into their surroundings, dressed in shapeless robes of un-dyed homespun cloth. Their skin was pale and dull, their hair lank and lustreless, their expressions grim.

 
They’d come here expecting to start a new life, but this wasn’t the paradise planet the mining corporation had promised them. They’d been lied to and now they were trapped here, forced to work the mines.
 

A strange noise filled the air, and something took shape, a splash of blue against grey rocks.
 

Everyone stared. Was this their salvation?
