Summary: Buffy isn’t sure if her mom will, or anyone else, will still want her.

As the bus pulled into the Sunnydale bus station, Buffy picked up her bag, following the other passengers as they disembarked. Some of them had people waiting to pick them up, others headed straight for the taxis, or to another stop, boarding a different bus for the rest of their journey.
 

Buffy hesitated, then shouldered her bag and set off on foot, suddenly reluctant to reach her destination and wanting to drag things out a little longer. Maybe by the time she reached her house she’d have some idea of what to say to her mom.

 
She felt all jumbled up inside. Running away hadn’t helped, and part of her wanted to be home, where she belonged, but what if her mom didn’t want her back? What if she wasn’t home? What if she didn’t even live there anymore? Would Giles know where her mom had gone? Would he be willing to take her in? Would he be happy to see her? Would anyone?

 
Her pace slowed as she approached 1630 Revello. She was almost home, but so unsure of her welcome she almost turned around and left again. Almost.

 
Steeling herself, she walked up the front steps and knocked.
