Summary: On a sunny winter’s day, Nosy goes for a slither around the roof garden.
Disclaimer: I don’t own Torchwood, or the characters.
A/N: Double drabble.
Up until today, winter had been cold, wet, and windy, so it had made a pleasant change to awaken to sunlight. Outside in the roof garden, the decking and the paths were mostly dry, although the artificial lawn was still harbouring drops of water, sparkling like diamonds.
It was still cold out, with a fresh breeze blowing, but that didn’t bother Nosy the Fluff; its thick fur provided all the insulation it needed, so it let itself out through the Fluff door Jack and Ianto had installed.
Slithering along the paths, looking this way and that, something in one of the flower beds caught Nosy’s attention. It stopped and goggled curiously.
“What have you found, young Fluff?” Ianto asked cheerfully, stepping outside with his first coffee of the day, overcoat on and buttoned against the chill, both hands wrapped around the steaming mug.
“HUM!” Nosy exclaimed excitedly as Ianto approached to peer at the tiny, green-tipped white bells almost hidden beneath a winter-bare shrub.
“Snowdrops, the first flowers of the year!” Ianto smiled. “Well, that’s a cheerful sight, isn’t it?”
“Hummm,” Nosy agreed, admiring the delicate blooms. If there were flowers in the garden already, spring couldn’t be far away.
