A/N: Triple drabble.
Drake had long been aware that he lacked anything resembling a sense of style, and when it came to color coordination, he didn’t have a clue. Clearly he’d not been blessed with whatever genes governed knowing how to look good.
And yet, despite looking like something the cat had dragged in, he’d still somehow managed to win the heart of the most stylish and well-dressed man he’d ever known, so when JJ had offered to give him a makeover, he’d willingly accepted.
He’d been introduced to a basic but effective skincare routine, gotten propelled into a swanky unisex salon for a new and much more flattering haircut, and allowed his lover to drag him to what seemed like every menswear boutique in New York, trying on so many clothes he got a bit giddy.
Usually he hated buying clothes, at least in part because he had no clue what suited him, but JJ made it fun, both of them trying on outfits, laughing, joking, teasing… It had been educational too, because JJ had painstakingly explained what worked and what didn’t, in terms that Drake was mostly able to understand.
Now, dressed in a new outfit, looking in the mirror, he barely recognised himself.
“Is that really me?”
JJ beamed. “Of course it is, Drakey. See how handsome you look?”
Drake blushed; he’d always considered himself below average in the looks department, but he had to admit that he looked pretty damned good in his smart new clothes. There was just one problem.”
“No one’s going to recognise me! If I go home dressed like this, my own mother won’t know who I am!” Another thought struck him. “I need to get new photos on all my ID.”
“We’ll start sorting that out tomorrow. Today, I want to show you off.”
The End
