Summary: The Doctor is having mechanical problems.

Shaking his sonic screwdriver didn’t do any good. It whirred faintly for a moment, but then the light at the end went out again.
“It’s not working! Why doesn’t it work?”
“Maybe it’s broken,” Clara suggested.
“Sonic screwdrivers don’t break!”
“You said the same about the TARDIS, but right now that’s not working either.”
The Doctor glared at Clara. “Not working isn’t the same as being broken. I know exactly what’s wrong with the TARDIS, I could fix it in moments, if my sonic screwdriver was working!
“Don’t you have a spare?”
“Of course not! Sonics don’t break!””
“And yet…”

“It’s not working! Why doesn’t it work?”
“Maybe it’s broken,” Clara suggested.

“You said the same about the TARDIS, but right now that’s not working either.”
